Advocacy Group: Help with planning leagues, clinic events, a
nd special events. This important team will help shape and inspire all volunteers by keeping WBO’s programs and services focused on the mission of helping kids see hope through Christ. Creating and providing the tools needed at all the events to inspire and improve self-esteem while developing faith based social responsibility in at-risk youth.
Timeline is year around and meets 2-3 times per month for average one hour.

Fundraising Team: Help with raising funds for the programs and services that World Baseball Outreach delivers to the local and international communites. You would become part of the fund raising team and assist in networking to all future donors, which could be individuals, local businesses or any large corporations.
Timeline is year around and meets 2-3 times per month for average one hour.

Clinic and In-Season Instructors: Help with World Baseball Outreach Clinics as a softball or baseball instructor. Help plan and coordinate clinics at ONEOK Field and other strategic areas to help promote WBO’s RBI softball and baseball leagues. This opportunity is instrumental in one on one encouragement with our players. You will help build confidence and desires to play the game by teaching them basic fundamentals in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Baseball and softball are games of a lot of reoccurring failure…just like life. Be on the front line teaching a child how to succeed through life lessons.
Timeline is year around and is one to two times per month. Average 2-3 hours each event.

Coaches Coach: Help oversee a team of 12-14 kids leading them in pre-game prayers, sending a bible verse home after each game. Helping and ensuring the team’s needs are met. This is a great volunteer opportunity to be a part of a child’s life one on one. You will get to know each child and the barriers in their life. Mentoring to each child will benefit
them in so many ways. In many cases you will be the only positive words they will hear.
Timeline will be February 1 to June 31, 2013 for baseball and September 1 through October 1, 2012 for softball. Average 1-2 times per week for 2 hours.

Head Coach: Commit to coaching a team of 12-14 boys/girls. Opportunities for both baseball and softball teams are available. Be a part of working from the formation of your team to planning out practices and games. You will be supported by a “Coaches Coach” and 2-4 assistant coaches. It’s not about baseball or softball. It’s about reaching our youth and inspiring them to reach their potential in life. Baseball/Softball knowledge is secondary to your ability to smile and create smiles in our RBI youth.
Timeline will be February 1 to June 31, 2013 for baseball and September 1 through October 1, 2012 for softball. Average 1-2 times per week for 2 hours.

Assistant Coach: Commit to assisting and coaching a team of 12-14 boys/girls. Opportunities for both baseball and softball teams are available. Be an important part of support to a baseball or softball team. You will be working under the guidance of a “Coaches Coach” and 2-4 other assistant coaches. The emphasis is again not on the games. It’s about your sacrifice and giving inspiration to our cities greatest kids.
Timeline will be February 1 to June 31, 2013 for baseball and September 1 through October 1, 2012 for softball. Average 1-2 times per week for 2 hours.

Baseball/Softball Umpire: Work with the Tulsa area RBI Leagues in volunteering your time as an umpire. This is a big need for the Tulsa RBI program and games are on Tuesday, Thursday and some Fridays. Even if it is just one night a week, we could use the help in teaching our RBI athletes the rules of the game of baseball and softball.

Equipment Managers: Work with all the Tulsa area RBI Leagues to assure equipment is in
the hands of the coaches. You will be working directly as a manager between coachs and World Baseball Equipment Ministry. Volunteers will initially help with equipment drives collecting gloves, bats, uniform pants, etc. with LifeChurch’s in the Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Owasso locations.
Timeline will be October 1st through March 31st for equipment drives, February 1st through May 1st for assisting each team with equipment bags. Average 1-3 hours per week.

Uniform Team: Work with coaching staff and parents to help size up and hand out uniforms for RBI baseball and softball teams. Help coordinate and work with parents to get uniforms including pants, jerseys and rubber cleats ordered. Once they arrive, you will be responsible for issuing to each team. Several times during the season you willl be on-site of games to hand out t-shirts and other gifts donated to the kids and their families.
Timeline will be February 1st through June 31st and will average 1-3 hours per week.

Greeters/Drink and Snack Tables: Interact with players and their families each game night during the season that runs April through June. This is a great opportunity for encouragement as players and their families enter and even more encouragement as they leave picking up their free Gatorade and snack.
League games are in the evenings Monday, Tuesday, Thrusday and make ups on Saturday mornings. Games are at 6:00 and 7:15 if there are lights. Usually finished by 9:00pm at O’Brien Park where we have lights and by 7:30pm at all other locations.

Cheer Squads: Your chance to come and interact with players and their families. Some kids have no support at the games. This is your chance to come and sit in an empty spot on a bleacher and root for kids that otherwise would not have that type of
encouragement.

After School Boys & Girls Club: This new activity is offered at our new location at 6209 S 107th East Ave in Tulsa. The program is designed to offer activities after school such as helping with homework, bible study (verse of the day), exercise, and teamwork activities. Program is based arounth the Major League Basebal Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Program along with material from the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.
Timeline is August through May each year. Summer programs will be available. At-risk youth are open to participate from the area Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 3:30-5:30pm.

Equipment Ministry Volunteer: Volunteers meet to organize donations of sports equipment and prepare outgoing donation shipments to local needs including the RBI league, USA bound donations, and preparations to ship all over the world. Help locally with families in need on weekends to provide at-risk youth equipment they need to participate in sports.
Timeline is year around meeting for 1-2 hours on Saturday mornings.
